Abstract

The family is one of the most important social institutions for the growth and development of a teenager's personality. Parents play a decisive role in the formation of a teenager's personality and the evolution of the parenting process. One of the suitable platforms for reflecting the role and activity of the family in the evolution of the adolescent's personality is the literary genre of novels and stories. The purpose of this research is to examine the role of the family in the process of child-rearing and adolescent personality development. The method of descriptive-analytical research and the method of collecting information is the examination of library documents. Adolescents and even parents can reconsider their behavior and speech by reading novels and stories and imitating characters and make the right decision in different and difficult stages of life. The results of the research showed that the relationships of family members are devoid of love and affection and basically friendly relations do not prevail between them. The parents of Hasti and Dawood have low knowledge and information. Strictness and wrong behaviors of parents towards their children are indicative of this issue. They consider themselves to be the exclusive owners of their children and can do whatever they want with them. Parents have no knowledge of their children's needs and emotional states and act based on their past experiences.
