Stories are born from modern society on the one hand and reflect social changes on the other. In fact, short stories also deal with the changes that humans face in modern society. This study examines the roles of Iranian women in contemporary short stories. Studies show that women in short stories have adopted various manifestations in Iranian society, apart from mother, sister, and wife, which constitute their identity in the story. Among their various roles are the mother, the oppressed, the oppressed, the helpless, or the slandered woman. Her masculine role constitutes another manifestation of social life. In addition, we can mention the manifestations of women and humans, each of which is described in its own place.
