Ahmadreza Ahmadi has been present in various artistic and literary fields of the country for more than fifty years and is considered one of the main representatives of the controversial "New Wave" poetry movement. The poetry, which was formed in the early 1940s, found fans and gradually fell into disrepute with the rise of political and social struggles against the Pahlavi regime and the indifference of publishers, critics and audiences. After the 1978 revolution and the end of the Iran-Iraq war and the subsiding of political and epic tensions, some of the principles and rules of this poetic movement came to the attention of avant-garde poets of the 1970s, and Ahmadi's poems were this time favored by publishers. Although Ahmadreza Ahmadi's poetry is known in the field of literary criticism and contemporary poetry studies as not committed to political and social issues, if his poems are looked at more carefully, manifestations of social commitment will become apparent. From political activists to prisoners and executions, censorship and book burners, and later war and its consequences, his poetry is seen, all of which, of course, follow the aesthetic principles of New Wave poetry.
