In this essay, the appearance of the Purgatory man and the ruined man in the stories of Abji Khanum and the Sage Velgard have been investigated that the researcher has tried to avoid the period of transition from tradition to modernity and its role in the evolution of human beings.In this research, existentialist and culture and personality theoretical schools have been used. According to the content of Hedayat's stories, the method of Qualitative content analysis as well as the study of documents and documents (library, archive and internet) has been used, using tools such as: documents, tables and fiches. In these stories, There is no way out for the confused, Purgatory and ruined people who are affected by the conditions governing the transition from tradition to modernity. They accept their fate and have not tried to get out of that situation and the shadow of death has spread over them.
