Examining language in literary works is an important step in the study of literature. This article investigates how language is reflected in modern Persian poetry and examines the extent to which modern poets have attempted to preserve standard language. Although modern poetry has developed extensively, many poets have blurred the distinction between standard language and literary language rather than contributing to the refinement of linguistic expression. In the poetry of Nusrat Rahmani, various linguistic inconsistencies and errors can be observed, suggesting that, unlike major poets, he did not possess a deep and comprehensive command of language and its usage. His poems contain numerous errors related to the use of verbs, nouns, prepositions, adjectives, and pronouns. Additional problems appear in the use of auxiliary verbs, the pluralization of nouns, incorrect adjective placement, the misuse of prepositions, and the omission of grammatical elements. Rahmani’s primary aim in writing poetry seems to have been the creation of vivid imagery. In this sense, he can be regarded as a practical supporter of poetry centered on imagery. However, his imagery often contains internal inconsistencies, and for this reason his poetry frequently fails to produce a strong emotional impact on the reader. This may explain why his work occupies a less prominent position in the broader history of Persian poetry and literature. This study is based on library-based research and employs a descriptive and analytical approach.
