Not only are emotions, events, and characters narrated by literature, but the real lives of human beings and the material conditions of society can also be reflected by it. Thus, the economic dimension must be focused upon as one of the most important methods by which a literary work is understood; that is, what is consumed by the characters, what goods are accessed by them, and what is considered a sign of poverty, prosperity, or class disparity. Signs of economic and social status can be represented by goods, types of clothing, work implements, sustenance, and even the lifestyles of the characters. For this reason, a deeper understanding of the story's world and its relationship to social reality is provided when literature is examined from an economic perspective. The novel Tangsir, written by Sadeq Chubak, is considered a highly suitable work for economic analysis, because the details of the characters' material lives are meticulously reflected in it. In this story, the differences among characters are made evident even by their types of clothing, possessions, food, and their level of access to amenities. It is clearly demonstrated by these very differences how lifestyle, social standing, and even the worldview of the characters can be impacted by the economy. Tangsir can be regarded as a text in which the core of the narrative is inhabited by the economy. Hence, an attempt is made in this article so that the goods and material elements present in the novel Tangsir are examined from an economic perspective, and so that they are categorized into groups such as essential, intermediate, capital, and luxury goods, based on their functions in the lives of the characters. It is indicated by the results of the research that a tangible image of the economic society and the cycle of production, distribution, and consumption of goods is presented by the novel Tangsir through its meticulous attention to detail.
