Contemporary Iranian stories, especially those by Jalal Al-Ahmad and Sadegh Hedayat, are full of social concerns. In this article, by examining social issues in the two stories, Jalal Al-Ahmad's Children of the People and Abji Khanum Sadegh Hedayat, we come to the conclusion that both stories refer to the powerlessness of women in some way. In the story of Abji Khanom, Abji Khanom's ugliness and unmarriedness are emphasized, which makes some family and social issues such as being blamed, fear of being judged by others, jealousy, etc. more prominent. The most obvious social issues in this story include the following: 1) Paying attention to people's appearance 2) It is a defect for a girl to stay at home 3) Being encouraged to be a female servant 4) Not paying attention to women's education and progress 5) Being blindsided in society 6) Living based on people's words, etc. In the story of the People's Child, women's weakness is examined from a different angle. The social elements of this story include: 1) Women's limitations and inability in society 2) Fear of being judged by others and people's words 3) Being rejected by family and society due to divorce 4) Violating maternal feelings for others, etc. So in both stories, we see women who have developed a wrong way of thinking due to the thoughts instilled in them by society and family, and ultimately, by doing things that They have harmed themselves.
