The present study aims to examine the stylistic features of the poems of Mirza Mohammad Qasem Khan Beyzai Jonaghani, an obscure yet skilled poet of the Qajar era. Employing a descriptive-analytical method based on both classical and modern stylistic theories, this research analyzes Beyzai’s poems through a content-based approach within three domains: linguistic, literary, and intellectual. In the linguistic domain, despite some metrical flaws, Beyzai demonstrates mastery over various prosodic meters. He pays careful attention to the external and internal musicality of his poetry, skillfully blending archaic and modern lexical elements. The frequent and harmonious repetition of vocabulary and the distinct syntactic features further highlight his linguistic prowess. In the literary domain, Beyzai’s adept use of rhetorical devices such as saj‘ (rhymed prose), jinās (paronomasia), and creative imagery reflects his strong command of eloquence and aesthetic expression. In the intellectual domain, themes of mysticism, love, and religious devotion pervade his poetry, revealing a deep fusion of didacticism and spiritual passion. The findings indicate that while Beyzai Jonaghani was influenced by poets of the Iraqi style and the Literary Return Movement, he successfully crafted an independent stylistic identity marked by refined thought, a pure linguistic structure, and a classical poetic form. This research constitutes a pioneering step toward recognizing his literary stature and exploring the hidden capacities of his works, thereby paving the way for future studies.
