With the start of the imposed war of the Iraqi Baath regime against our country, a new chapter in various fields of culture, art, and literature opened before artists and people. One of these fields is fiction. Considering that it was the initial months of the war, the field of fiction writing experienced an ambiguous atmosphere due to inexperience and lack of education, a shortage of writers, and the slogan-laden political atmosphere of those days. It has received less attention in related literary studies and research or the literature of the Holy Defense. In this article, we will examine the effective components in the creation of this atmosphere and the approach of the storytellers and intellectuals of those days to the production of two main stories written and published during that period: the stories "The Last Look from the Khorramshahr Bridge" by Nasser Moazin and "When the Smoke of War Was Seen in the Sky of the Village" by Qazi Rabihavi.
